The Issue
The project encountered an early challenge: water intrusion that resulted in mold growth.
The client contacted us because mold had already established itself, posing a significant risk to both the construction schedule and the health of the tenants. Although they weren't initially included in our COMMP (Control of Moisture & Mold Prevention) program, the urgency of the situation highlighted the necessity of our expertise to help get the project back on track.
The Solution
Reflecting on the situation, it’s clear that the mold problem could have been prevented with better water management on-site. If the water intrusion had been dealt with and dried out within 72 hours, the subsequent mold growth might have been avoided. This was an important lesson for the client, highlighting the significance of being vigilant and responding promptly in construction.
When we came on board in February, we wasted no time. We quickly tackled the existing water and mold problems to ensure that construction could proceed without further interruptions.
But our efforts didn’t end there….
We uncovered additional water issues that hadn’t been reported and advised the client on how to prevent future complications. By educating them on the necessity of quick action, we assisted them in adopting best practices to halt mold growth. By May 2023, we had fully incorporated the project into our COMMP program, guaranteeing that it would remain safeguarded against moisture and mold until its completion in April 2024.
The Outcome
Thanks to our proactive approach, Aura Town Center passed all inspections and earned Certified Mold-Free status. Construction continued smoothly without any delays, keeping the project on track. Most importantly, the client felt reassured knowing their buildings were protected from future mold problems.
While we didn’t receive formal feedback, the client’s satisfaction was evident. They were so pleased with our work that we landed a second project with them, along with four more in the works. This ongoing partnership showcases the trust and confidence Clearity instills in every project.
